This course will examine the works of six artists who have achieved unquestionable star status in the world of international art. How did each achieve this status? And what was so special about their work? We will look at slides and also original works of art.

Week 1 - Pablo Picasso

Week 2 - Henri Matisse

Week 3 - Salvador Dali

Week 4 - Henry Moore

Week 5 - Lucian Freud

Week 6 - Francis Bacon

Dr Peter Webb has degrees from Cambridge and London universities and a doctorate from the University of East Anglia. Peter enjoyed a long career in higher education at different universities, and has written several books on influential artists. He retired as Reader in History of 20th Century Art in 1996.
