This film takes place in Norway in a beautiful and traditional wooden family house. The narrative has Bergmanesque overtones.
Sisters Nora and Agnes reunite with their estranged father, Gustav, after the death of their mother. Gustav, a once-renowned director offers Nora, a successful theatre actor, a role in what he hopes will be his comeback film. Nora having suffered from his neglect in the past turns it down but soon discovers he’s given the part to an eager young Hollywood Netflix star, because she comes with funding. The two siblings must now navigate a complicated relationship with Gustav while dealing with an American actress dropped right into the middle of their complex family dynamics. Nora’s acting is affected by her panic attacks. The exploration of family relationships is poignantly and touchingly exposed along with the healing power of art.
