Autumn 2026: Drawing and Painting

This course is for anyone wishing to improve and to develop different approaches to drawing and painting from 3 different subjects: Still Life, Landscape and Portrait. Whether the student is a beginner or experienced, the aim of the course is to spend time working from each of the subjects to create compositions, drawing and painting from observation, from sketches and from photographic references. The tutor will provide the Still Life objects and we will have a Portrait model for 2 weeks each term. Landscape and Portrait images will be provided as well.

Please note that students will be expected to bring their own art materials.

Whether you need to develop fundamental skills, to consolidate or explore new ways of working the tutor will give advice and guidance.
