Eric Ravilious (1903-1942) is the subject of this year’s Film Society special.
This year’, for the first time and with the support of the HLSI Lectures Committee, we are putting on a combined programme of film and talk.
Our film “Drawn to War” reviews the life of one of Britain’s greatest 20th century painters, focussing especially on his seldom seen paintings as a War Artist.
To continue the programme we welcome Alan Powers, author, lecturer and the foremost authority on Ravilious. It will be the first opportunity to familiarise ourselves with the contents of Alan’s hot off the press “Eric Ravilious in the eyes of his contemporaries’.
Programme:
2.30pm: Introduction of Drawn to War by Alan Powers
4.00pm: Refreshments
4.30pm: Talk: ‘Eric Ravilious: as seen by his contemporaries and now’, Alan Powers
All tickets: £20
Our special sold out last year so please book soon to avoid disappointment
